Poinsettia Heights is a quiet neighborhood north east of Fort Lauderdale Florida. The original development, called NorthRidge, was built by Gill Construction Company right after World War I in the 40s and early 50s.
Today the simple, brightly painted homes line the streets from 15th Avenue on the west to 20th Avenue and Lake Melba on the east. The middle River forms a natural boundary to the north and 13th Street separates it from the neighboring Lake Ridge.
Poinsettia Heights is a quiet and unassuming neighborhood that, due to existing regulations, is zoned single family residents and allows town homes and condos only along the two main thoroughfares, a rarity in eastern Fort Lauderdale. Residents love it for its convenience to schools (Sunrise Middle and Bennett Elementary) shopping along U.S. 1 and its eastside location. Homes generally range from 1,100 to 1,800 square feet but with new construction can be in excess of 4,000.
